Viking Line with Carpet Take Back

DESSO & VIKING LINE CARPET TAKE BACK

Desso, a Tarkett company and Viking Line have agreed to work together on a Carpet take back programme for the carpet installed on the Viking Line ships. In April 2015, Axminster carpet was taken backfrom the Viking Line ships Amorella, Mariella and Grace. The carpet was collected in Turku, Finland  and in Landskrona, Sweden. In April 2016 more carpet will be taken back from the Amorella and the Grace ships.

Additional benefits of carpet take back:

• The costs in most EU countries is lower when participating in carpet take back versus the costs for disposal at the shipyard or locally.
• It is a simple process. There is a price per m2 and not weight-based.
